HMNZS Poverty Bay

So this is a model I've built in Sketchup that's based on the Lego model of the HMS Camden Lock built by Peter Reid back in 2007. Most people who are familiar with my work, know that I'm a huge fan of the old BBC Comedy series 'Hyperdrive' and the ship that it's set on, the HMS Camden Lock. I always liked Peter's Lego version. Being made from Lego bricks gives the design a blockier, more angled look that I think looks good as a ship in it's own right. Thinking about the backstory of the ship, as I now live in New Zealand, I thought about a similar series to 'Hyperdrive' but set with a New Zealand ship and crew. Often being strapped for cash in the military, I envisioned the Kiwi government buying up several older classes of vessel from the Brits and then refitting them with modern systems. In keeping with the 'Hyperdrive' tradition of naming their vessels after obscure British towns and places, I've named the ship 'HMNZS Poverty Bay' which is very close to the town I live in here in Ne
